The city of Ybor is just north of downtown Tampa, Florida. This region was one of the first industrial sectors in the state of Florida and was joined into Tampa in 1887. Its original business was the manufacture of cigars due to the influx of many Cuban immigrants.

In the peak years of the city from 1900 to about 1929, cigar production was in the hundreds of millions a year.
